This doesn’t mean you’ll know everything. Rather, it means you’ll know the next step. You’ll sense God’s voice with confidence instead of second-guessing every impression. Malachi 3:10 promises, “… see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Notice the sequence — God opens, then He pours. When heaven opens, you don’t create the breakthrough. Rather, you receive it.

However, positioning matters. Here’s how to position yourself:

Stay Expectant, Not Passive

Expectation is active. It watches for God to move. In contrast, passivity assumes nothing will change. When heaven opens, expectant people recognize it because they’re looking. They notice the shift in their prayers. They pay attention when clarity comes. Furthermore, they respond when God speaks.

Act on What You Receive

Acts 10:11 describes Peter’s vision: “He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by it’s four corners.” Heaven opened, something descended, and Peter had to decide what to do with it. Similarly, when heaven opens and God releases clarity, direction, or breakthrough, you have to act on it. In fact, receiving isn’t passive. It requires response.

Keep Creating Space

Breakthrough isn’t a one-time event. Rather, it’s a lifestyle. When heaven opens, you don’t close it by returning to the same patterns that kept it shut. Instead, you maintain the space you’ve created. You continue the practices that positioned you for breakthrough in the first place.

What If You’re Not Sure It’s Happening?

Sometimes when heaven opens, it’s dramatic. You know exactly when the shift happened. Other times, it’s gradual. You look back and realize everything changed, but you can’t pinpoint the exact moment.

Both are valid. God doesn’t operate on our timelines or meet our expectations for how breakthrough should look. Rather, He works in ways that fit who He made you to be and what He’s calling you into.
