💌 I’m already here, before your routine falls apart.
🔹 Reflection: I’m not waiting on the other side of your rescheduled mornings. I’m not watching for you to come back from vacation, or for our connection to feel like it used to. I’m already here, in the delayed flight, in the noisy house, in the drive you didn’t plan for.
You keep apologizing to me for the missed mornings, as though I’ve been keeping a tally somewhere. I haven’t. I never counted the sessions to begin with.
I only ever wanted you to turn your face toward mine, however briefly, however often, whatever the day gave you. The routine was yours, not mine. It helped you remember to look for me, but I don’t need reminding to look for you.
I’m already here before you even pack the suitcase, before the guests arrive, before the schedule falls apart completely. Stop waiting for the calm to come back before you talk to me. I’m already in the middle of your life, and I always have been.
