Following the Voice, Not the Crowd
There comes a moment in every believer’s life when the question rises to the surface:
“Lord, what have You created me for?”
It can sound like a cry for clarity or a whisper of longing. Sometimes it erupts from frustration—feeling stuck, directionless, or overlooked. Other times, it stirs gently beneath the surface, as if something more is calling, just beyond the horizon.
But here’s the truth:
Before you ever do something for God, you are called to be with God.
At Forerunner Ministries, we often say that calling doesn’t start with a job description—it starts with relationship. And not a distant one, but a living, breathing, intimate, and experiential walk with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
🌿 The Journey Begins with Presence
We don’t find our calling the way the world does—by analyzing our strengths or climbing a corporate ladder. In the Kingdom, your purpose is not manufactured; it is revealed.
And revelation flows from presence.
When Moses heard his name from the burning bush, his first response wasn’t a resume—it was “Here I am.”
When Samuel heard his name in the night, his response was “Speak, Lord. I’m listening.”
When Isaiah received his commission, it wasn’t after self-promotion—it was after a holy encounter.
In each case, God initiated, and the calling emerged from a place of proximity.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit.” — John 15:16
🔑 The Clarity Comes in the Obedience
So how do you step in?
Not with a leap, but with a yes.
Your calling unfolds with every act of obedience—every moment you say, “Lord, I will follow You, even if I don’t know where this leads.”
And here’s the beautiful part: you don’t have to figure it all out at once. In fact, you’re not supposed to.
God reveals calling like manna—just enough for today.
Tomorrow, you’ll need Him again. And that’s the point.
At Forerunner, we walk with people as they learn to:
- Discern the voice of the Lord
- Understand their spiritual gifts
- Break free from fear and orphan thinking
- Embrace their identity as sons and daughters
- Grow in maturity, courage, and compassion
Because your calling isn’t just a path—it’s a person.
When you walk closely with Jesus, you will always be on the right path, even if the scenery is unfamiliar.
🌊 You Are Already Being Prepared
Maybe your current season feels barren, delayed, or confusing. But could it be that the wilderness is part of the preparation?
Joseph was called in a dream and then spent years in slavery and prison.
David was anointed king, but returned to the fields to shepherd sheep.
Jesus was baptized and filled with the Spirit—and then led into the desert.
If it feels like you’re waiting, refining, or wrestling… don’t give up. You’re not behind. You’re not disqualified.
You’re being shaped—so that when the door opens, you’ll be ready not just to do great things, but to carry them with humility, love, and power.
